On June 1, 2023, The Jobs Transformation Map (JTM) for Retail was launched by Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry Dr Tan See Leng, as a guiding resource to help retail companies plan for the future and ensure that their workforce is equipped with the necessary skillsets to meet evolving business needs.
The JTM was jointly developed by Enterprise Singapore (ESG) and Workforce Singapore (WSG) with the Ministry of Manpower, and supported by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), following the roll-out of the Retail Industry Transformation Map (ITM) 2025 in October last year.
At the launch event, three retail industry bodies – the Singapore Retailers Association (SRA), Singapore Furniture Industries Council and Singapore Fashion Council – inked a memorandum of understanding with SNEF and NTUC.
Representing over 1,100 member companies that employ almost 94,000 workers in total, the three bodies committed to reach out and work with both member companies and other retailers to drive job transformation through the JTM and JSIT-R.
