Singapore Education

The Ministry of Education (MOE) aims to help students discover and make the most of their talents, as well as realise their full potential. The MOE also hopes to inspire a life-long love of learning in students.

Singapore has a strong and internationally-renowned education system, where students aim high and achieve great results. We have excellent schools with capable school leaders and teachers, and world-class facilities.

MOE uses these strengths to prepare the next generation of Singaporeans for the future. While the future is full of great opportunities, it will bring about many changes that we cannot foresee today. The mission of Singapore schools is to allow young people to develop the skills, character, and values that will enable them to excel and drive Singapore forward.

In recent years, the Ministry of Education has been moving towards a more flexible and diverse education system. The aim is to provide students with more choices to suit their different interests and learning styles. Being able to choose what and how they learn will encourage them to learn more. The Ministry of Education also provides students with a broader range of education to ensure their holistic development both inside and outside the classroom.

The Ministry of Education seeks to help every child find their talents and grow and thrive with confidence in their abilities. Schools encourage children to follow their passions and nurture their talents in the diverse areas of academia, sports, and the arts.

MOE wants to nurture young Singaporeans who ask questions and seek answers, and are willing to think in new ways, solve new problems and create new opportunities for the future. Equally importantly, the Ministry wants to help young people develop a sound set of values, so that they have the character and resilience to cope with life’s inevitable setbacks without being discouraged, and that they are willing to work hard to achieve their dreams.
